Paulo Coelho

The Brazilian writer is the author of world famous bestsellers. His works have been translated into 71 different languages and have sold over 130 million copies more than 168 countries.

Coelho’s first book The Pilgrimage (in Estonian "Palverännak. Maagi päevik") was published in 1987 after he had walked the ancient pilgrimage road to Santiago de Compostella.

His novel The Alchemist brought him world fame and an entry into the Guiness Book of Records, as he signed The Alchemist that had been translated into 53 languages during 45 minutes at the Frankfurt Book Fair in 2003.

Coelho’s work has received numerous international awards, among which are the Bambi 2001 Award, The Budapest Prize 2005, and Goldene Feder Award 2005.
