Freedom From the Known
Translated by: Jaanus Sarapuu JIDDU KRISHNAMURTI (1895-1986) is an Indian philosopher and poet. From origin he was brahman of Tamil Nadu, studied in England, in 1909 became close to adherents of theosophy (A. Besant, C.W. Leadbeater) who considered him to be a reincarnation of Buddha Maitreya and Jesus Christ. 1929 broke up with theosophy, gave lectures in Western Europe and USA. In his lectures he demonstrated systematizised theories and authorities of worldviews. Against knowledges based on by cultural traditions caused false imaginations he set spiritual freedom attained by intuition. Krishnamurti´s main work "Freedom From The Known" is extremely sharp, clear and stoned mind deeply shaking text, which pushes us from human agony and aggression into complete psychological renewal. "Havent you wondered sometimes, walking alone in a dirty street, sitting in the bus, resting by the sea or walking in the forest full of birds, trees, streams and animals -- havent it crossed your mind to ask, why is it so, that human being, who have lived on the Earth so many millions of years, havent that extraordinary flower that never withers? -- I dont know, have you ever seriously faced a question, why your heart is empty." |
